1. Port bind / startup failure¶

Check ports 8080/8005/8009; review server.xml Connector and Server ports; read logs/catalina.out.

2. OOM / GC pressure¶

Review CATALINA_OPTS heap settings; analyze heap dumps; check maxThreads and session leaks.

3. 404 / deployment failure¶

Verify WAR in webapps/, autoDeploy settings, and localhost logs for startup errors.

4. Reverse proxy / HTTPS / client IP¶

Configure RemoteIpValve or AJP secrets; align proxy X-Forwarded-* headers with Connector scheme/secure.
